Stay and hang with queers in Toronto

Photo: DeeCee on Unsplash

Toronto's queer west end spends its summers sprawled across the lawns of Trinity Bellwoods, with blankets, snacks and friends waving newcomers over. Catch the ferry to Hanlan's Point on the Toronto Islands, the oldest queer space in the country, and spend the afternoon swimming and drying off in the sun. Ride back as the skyline glows across the harbour, and end the night at Three Dollar Bill, a queer bar in Parkdale, with a dance party, a drag show or a round of karaoke.

From May to October, Kensington Market goes car free on the last Sunday of the month, with music and food filling the streets. On grey days, curl up at Glad Day Lit, the queer bookshop just off Queen West.
