Before You Start
If you identify as a cis, straight, dyadic (non-intersex) man, please respect that this space is not for you. We’re happy to recommend any other travel app. There are plenty out there.

How you join
You get in with an invite from someone already on Quouch, or the Quouch team approves you when you register. Either way, this is not an open door. We review new accounts and pull anything incomplete or off.

Community
1. Be friendly, kind, and respectful.
2. Respect people’s pronouns — and always ask if you’re unsure.
3. This is not a dating app. We can’t (and won’t) stop love or friendship from happening offline — but being sexually forward or suggestive on the app will get you banned.
4. Nobody is obliged to spend time with you. Whether you’re a traveler or a host, you can always say no — and others can too.
5. Be aware of your privileges. What might feel like curiosity to you can feel invasive or exhausting to someone else. This is one of the reasons marginalized people don’t always feel comfortable couchsurfing — and we’re here to change that.
6. Discuss boundaries and hard “no”s early. Honest communication keeps everyone safe and comfortable.
7. Anti-oppression. Quouch is an anti-fascist, anti-colonial, anti-imperialist space. We do not welcome people who support or stay neutral toward genocide, apartheid, or colonial violence, including the genocide in Gaza. If that is a problem for you, this is not your community. Supporting or enabling those systems gets your account deactivated.

Safety
1. Do not upload sexual or explicit content. No topless, nude, or sexual photos — Quouch is not the space for that.
2. Upload a clear photo of yourself. Trust works both ways. Would you trust someone without a profile photo?
3. Invite responsibly. Quouch is built on trust. If you are a woman or queer person using our space, please don’t invite cis, straight, dyadic (non-intersex) men. People can also register and wait for team approval. The same rule applies: this space is not for them.
4. Be aware of dynamics and privilege. Some communities on Quouch face more danger or discrimination than others. If you have privilege, it’s not just about awareness — it’s about practice. No one should have to educate you, be stared at, or feel unsafe, fetishised, or uncomfortable around you.

Travellers
1. Respect your host’s space. Clean up after yourself and leave things as you found them — quickly and responsibly.
2. Follow your host’s house rules. They may send these in advance — read and respect them.
3. Be independent. Your host might not be able to spend time with you constantly. Make your own plans and adapt your routine if needed.
4. Do not bring other people — especially cis, straight, dyadic (non-intersex) men — into the host’s space without explicit consent.
---
Hosts
1. Respect your guest’s privacy. Even if they’re in your home, they deserve boundaries and alone time.
2. Be transparent about your space. If it’s shared (flat, room, etc.), clarify that before the stay — and mention any planned events, parties, smoking, or other activities.
3. Communicate your expectations clearly. Cleaning routines, schedules, shower times — mention them early.
4. Disclose who else lives with you. Especially if you share the space with a cis, straight, dyadic (non-intersex) man.
5. Match your actions to your words. If your profile says trans-friendly, don’t bring around transphobic guests. If you say SW-friendly, don’t host people with SWERF attitudes. You are responsible for the space you create on Quouch.

Filters
Our filters are tools for safety and comfort — not for exclusion or performance. You’re not a bad person if you don’t identify with them. They exist for those who need them.
When using filters, think: “Do I identify with this?”
- “Trans Only” is for transgender people to find each other, not for cis allies.
- “BIPOC Only” is for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour.
- The same applies to filters like Neurodivergent, SW Friendly, Queer, Intersex, Gender Non-Conforming, and the other safer-space tags.
If you’re an ally, that’s amazing — show it in your description. Be warm, open, and honest — and only select filters that apply to you. Let the people you support decide if they want to stay with you.

Spam and Excessive Messaging
To keep Quouch friendly and safe, sending excessive or unwanted messages is not allowed. Repeatedly contacting others with irrelevant, copy-pasted, or inappropriate messages may result in a temporary deactivation or a permanent ban.
- Be mindful of others’ time and boundaries.
- Do not promote unrelated content.
- Respect others’ space and communication preferences.

Feedback and Accountability
We built these guidelines with good intentions — but we know we’ll make mistakes. If something feels off or missing, please tell us at hello@quouch-app.com. Your feedback makes Quouch better for everyone.
