Stay safe at Quouch 🧡

We work every day to make Quouch as safe, inclusive, and positive as possible. Still, anytime you meet people online, there’s some risk — so it’s important to stay cautious when traveling or hosting through Quouch.

How we keep Quouch safe

  • Invited or approved: A lot of people arrive with an invite from someone already here. If you register without one, the Quouch team reviews you before you're in.
  • Active moderation: We monitor new profiles daily and remove anyone who doesn’t follow our Community Guidelines.
  • Profile checks: Our team reviews accounts for incomplete or suspicious information (like missing or unclear photos).
  • Talk before you stay: Video call your host or guest first. If they won’t, walk away and tell us.
  • Always a way out: End a stay, block, report. We’ll listen and act.
  • Member photos stay off this site: The people in our Discover videos are real creators who worked with Quouch under an agreement. Team photos on About are us. Other faces here (app mockups, review cards) are stock. We do not put member photos on the marketing site. Your identity stays in the community unless you ask us to show it.

If you spot a profile that looks incomplete, suspicious, or violates our Community Guidelines, please report it to 📧 hello@quouch-app.com. We take action quickly.

Be cautious of users who:

  • Ask for financial help
  • Disappear and reappear under a new name
  • Give vague or inconsistent answers
  • Are overly complimentary, romantic, or sexual
  • Request your address too early
  • Tell exaggerated or untrue stories
  • Say they are a minor
  • Send harassing or offensive messages
  • Try to sell you products or services
  • Attempt to threaten or pressure you

Remember: both travelers and hosts share trust and vulnerability. Neither owes the other more than mutual respect and honesty.

Tips for Travelers 🌍

1. Profile photo safety: We don’t display last names on Quouch. If you prefer to stay private, use a photo different from your social media to avoid reverse-image searches.

2. Profile description: Be open and friendly, but avoid sharing sexual content, personal addresses, or private details.

3. Contacting hosts: Reach out with your travel dates and who you are. Be kind, give enough info for comfort, but remember: trust is mutual.

4. Video call before staying: Always request a quick video call to meet your host, see their space, and verify their identity. If they refuse or seem inconsistent, stop and report it to hello@quouch-app.com.

5. Share your location: Tell friends or family where you’re staying and check in regularly.

6. Know local emergency resources: Learn how to contact emergency services, key phrases in the local language, and ensure you have mobile data access.

Tips for Hosts 🏠

1. Profile photo safety: Like travelers, you can use a unique photo if you wish to stay private.

2. Profile description: Stay friendly, but avoid sexual content or sharing your full home/work address publicly.

3. Contacting travelers: Be welcoming and transparent. Provide enough info for guests to feel comfortable staying with you.

4. Video call before hosting: Always video chat before confirming a stay to ensure the person matches their profile. If they refuse or seem off, contact us immediately at hello@quouch-app.com.

5. Let someone know: Share your guest’s info and stay dates with a trusted friend or family member.

6. Help guests feel safe: Offer basic orientation, local tips, or support if they’re new to your city — especially if they’re queer, trans, or a person of color traveling abroad. You don’t owe your time, but kindness makes all the difference.

Remember 🫡

If at any point you feel uncomfortable as a traveler or host, you can end the exchange and contact us. We’ll listen, take action, and do our best to make sure you feel safe again.

Travel kindly. Stay safe. Have fun! ✈️
