Croix-Rousse sits on its hill like a village, with murals and food markets and people who stay at the same café all afternoon. Walk the park at Tête d'Or and row a little boat on the lake if the weather holds. Climb to Fourvière for sunset over the two rivers. Then drop down to the Centre LGBTI+ for a drag show or a quiz, or find HEAT if you want a proper night.
In December the Fête des Lumières covers the city in projections and everyone walks until their feet hurt. The rest of the year, a long lunch on the Presqu'île is plenty.
