Stay and hang with queers in Lisbon

Príncipe Real is Lisbon's queer garden, with a square of cedar trees and people who linger over coffee until it becomes a drink. Walk up to the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara for the view, or take the tram to the river and watch the light hit the 25 de Abril bridge. After dark the little bars around the square keep going, and the garden is still open for one more conversation.

In June the city smells of sardines for Santo António, and the streets of Alfama fill with tables and dancing. Any other evening, the lookout at sunset is the whole date.
