Capel Street has been car free since 2022, and with tables out on the street it is the easiest place in Dublin to lose an afternoon. Hop on the DART to Sandycove for a swim at the Forty Foot, where locals jump in all year round. Carry on to Killiney Hill for the evening, when the whole of Dublin Bay spreads out below the obelisk. Back on Capel Street, Pantibar has been the queer heart of the strip since 2007, and Street 66 in Temple Bar has a snug bar downstairs and a dance floor upstairs.
Every summer, GAZE takes over the Light House Cinema and the IFI for a week of queer film. Any weekend, a long, giggly drag brunch is how Dublin likes to recover.
