Stay and hang with queers in Bologna

Bologna is made for walking under the porticoes, and the university streets stay loud until late. Spend the afternoon in Giardini Margherita, then climb the hill to San Luca if you want the view and a slightly burning pair of legs. Cassero at Porta Saragozza has been the queer centre since the seventies, with parties, films and a terrace that fills as soon as it is warm.

In summer the city eats late and talks later. Pride in June is one weekend. The rest of the year, a long dinner you did not plan is the whole night.
