Stay and hang with queers in Amsterdam

The streets around the Jordaan are for losing an afternoon, and Café Saarein on Elandsstraat has been the lesbian living room since the seventies. Cycle through Vondelpark until you find a patch of grass, then linger for the light on the canals. 't Mandje on Zeedijk, Bet van Beeren's old bar, is still there if you want a piece of history with your beer.

Canal Pride in the first week of August is the one with the boats. The rest of the year, a picnic in the park with whoever you just met will do.
